Hi for my own reasons (Crohn's Disease), i have bought a juicer which basically means extracting all the minerals, vitamins of the vegetable leaving the fibre behind . I eat the same as the piggies, except they are on very low calcium diet! and I am on low fibre....too much calcium for them, to much roughage for me...

question: do you think i could feed the piggies the pulp safely? e.g. if a drink was mostly kale/spinach etc would the calcium be extracted (for me to drink) by the juicing process therefore leaving the roughage for them? my answer would be yes, but when it comes to my piggies i like to double check..

any comments welcome..

thanks

Not everything will be extracted therefore I would still moderate the amount they get but I would think it would be fine to give them so long as it didn't start fermenting. They'd still need whole veg as well of course because they do need the vitamins and minerals too.

thanks hermes.. of course, they would still get their usual dinners, i just thought because they are very limited in spinach, kale, choi etc, it may be a good way of giving them a wee bit more without the high calcium levels, do you think the pulp could be made into treats? mmhh...

any ideas very welcome
