So my daughters guinea got out of his cage and we think he consumed something he shouldn't have. Since then, he's been lethargic, barely eating, and barely opening his eyes. I read a few things that make me believe it's gas or something dealing with the stomach. I just wonder if there are over the counters that we can try before taking him to the vet?

The forum tends to be quiet at this time but it sounds like your piggie needs to see the vet asap

Please take your piggy to the vet ASAP.
He sounds very ill and needs treatment which can only be offered by a vet.
If you don't know what is wrong with him then a proper diagnosis is very important before offering anything else.
Please make sure he is seen by a professional soon.

Your piggy needs to see a vet asap. This does sound like a life and death emergency. We don't advocate home treatments on this forum especially when you don't know what you are dealing with but either way this sounds like it has progressed past this

I absolutely agree. Your piggy needs a vet.
No over the counter medication would ever be recommended for two reasons - you do not know what problem you are dealing with (only a vet can correctly diagnose) and often over the counter medications are not strong enough to deal with the problem which then leads to the problem becoming much worse.
