Letters of support needed for honour nomination

I am going to do something for someone who I feel makes such a massive contribution to our guinea pigs health and well being.
I want to nominate Vedra for an OBE/MBE.
YES, I am serious about this, the lady in my opinion deserves a medal for what she has done for my piggies lately and I am hoping that many of you on here have your own experiences you can write about.
I will download a form and complete it, I can send letters of support along with the application - that is where you lot can also help. Please can you send me post or e-mail in writing your supportive letters. (pm me for my home address or e-mail address.)

This must not get out to Vedra - it has to be kept hush hush
It can take 12-18 months for an application to be considered and they decide from the information given what honour may be given.
Really hoping that people will support me with this and not think I'm a bit bonkers

I know it's not Health and illness, but people who post under this thread will be more likely to have knowledge of and experience of Vedra caring for their piggies - however, mods may move it to another section if felt necessary

Have a look at www.direct.gov.uk and look for honours and under that section there is a link which explains how to write a letter of support for a nomination, It is called "how to write a citation".

This is something that has played on my own mind for a while too. If anyone deserves an honour for contributions to animal welfare, SHE DOES!

I think it's a great idea, sadly however, I doubt they will want to upset the RCVS. Having said that, I still think you should nominate her though.

I know what you mean it has crossed my mind about the RCVS - at the end of the day though Vedra runs a Charitable organisation for our piggies and has work tirelessly for many years and :x what the :x RCVS think. I will be extremely thoughtfull about what I put in the nomination application form.

Great idea. I`ll follow it through on the gov site. Also, a piggy friend that Vedra helped will add her support for sure. Vedra deserves a knighthood let alone a CBE/MBE/OBE.

Seen Vedra today, she just amazes me - she has just taken on a piggy with three legs she's such a lovely person and absolutely loves what she does

I spoke to Vedra earlier in the year when I needed advice on Mimsis bladder stone. I hope she gets the recognition for her work that she deserves..
