Lettuce leaves

For the past few days I’ve been feeding my boys Romaine but they both do the same thing: eat around the stalk and leave the middle. Should I be worried or are they just fussy? Also Speedy did a cute thing tonight: he took a stalk out of his food bowl and sat it next to him so he could eat the pellets in his bowl in peace.

I don't give mine stalk of lettuce as it is very tough. I just give them leaf of lettuce.

The stalk can taste quite bitter, I usually cut the leaf away and not feed the stalk.

Mine eat the stalk but only after they've eaten the leaves, which are preferred.

Mine leave all stalks, lettuce, kale and cabbage
