Rescued two babies aged between3/5 weeks and took to the vets who told me that they have lice and to treat them with Xeon ... However she has just informed me that I can't use this treatment until they are 2/3weeks older due to side effects such as fits and possible death because of them bring so young ... Was advised to bathe the infected areas with warm salt water until then .. One of the babies has a irritated eye and been given fucithalmic twice a day .. The vet said they might have ringworm as well ... Anyone got any other ideas to treat these two for the next 2 weeks before I can use the Xeon . Thank you

You could try emailing gorgeous guineas they do a lice shampoo but it is not suitable for babies. They are good at advice though so they may be able to suggest an alternative

If it is actual lice, Ivermectin won't work, it needs to be a bath of some kind. I use Lyclear creme rinse but am not sure about using that on babies, I could find out though. If it is mites then yes they need Ivermectin and I would have thought your vet could have given it orally or by injection. There is a version of Xeno for younger pigs but I am not a fan of spot on.

As for the ringworm, that will need treating asap, preferably with Imaverol dips and some kind of oral fungal medication from the vets like Itrafungol.

The vet has given me Xeon but can't use it for another 2 weeks ... Was told just to bathe bald areas with warm salt water until then ... The babies are too young for any treatment ATM

If you are talking about xeno what you mea is xeno50 which is for animals under 800gms you can get it off amazon. If your vet suggests this it is worth knowing my vet charged me £30 for box of 6 and only £15 on net but check with vet before using
