Hi there, I'm a new member and have had quite an emotional time with my piggies. My boar recently died under anesthetic which left my female Winnie alone. I decided to get a new female named Muffin....after two days discovered she had a fungal infection. They have both been dipped in Imaverol 3 weeks running. This appears to have disappeared but Winnie has, it seems got lice which I have treated both for with xeno 450. Muffin seems fine but Winnie has still got them. Would anyone know if its safe to treat a third time. Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome! I am sorry for your problems.

Some lice can be very persistent especially if the immune system is a bit suppressed. How many rounds of of xeno have you given? A usual full course is 3-4 rounds at the specified interval. Lice don't react quite as well as mange mites to ivermectin. You and your vet may consider alternative treatments if the ivermectin doesn't do the trick.
