My piggie is being treated for lice I only got her last week she’s riddled with them :( She’s had a bath in lice and easy shampoo by gorgouse guineas and had ivermectin this was last Tuesday anyway looks like most of the lice have died. Looked under her arm pit and seen this? Is it eggs?

Hi! These look like hay mites eggs. Best cut them off scissors; that is the easiest way of making sure that they cannot hatch into invisible mites. The hairs will crow back.
You treat running lice and hay mites the same way. Some strains of lice and hay mites can be rather difficult to get on top of. Please make sure that you always wait at least 48 hours between any treatment to allow it to work properly before treating with something else.

I’ve just bathed her in insecticidal shampoo that kills lice mites and fungi and just about to put second lot of ivermectin on she had last lot last Tuesday would she be ok to join my herd or am I best waiting ?

Hi!
Have you made sure that the shampoo is safe for small animals? Johnson's from pets@home will not kill the mite eggs. It would be good if you could remove them physically so the next generation of mites can't come out.

Yep safe for small animals :) Lincoln FungiKlenz shampoo

Me again I tried trimming all the fur where the eggs were and she’s had 2 baths and 2 treatments of ivermectin over 2 weeks I can still see some eggs but not as many should I still keep her septated from my herd or will it be safe to put her in and do another treatment in 2 weeks? x

I would avoid adding her to your herd until she is fully clear :)

I agree, just to be on the safe side as the last thing you want or need is for it to spread to them all

Update on misty! The eggs looks like there falling out of her fur now they don’t seem to be close to her skin!

How Can I tell when all the eggs are dead?
