Licking And Nibbling Me. Is It Loving Or Cross?

Hi.

Truffle is now 4months. Sometimes when I hold her she runs upto my bare neckline and when she reaches skin she licks and nibbles me. It is very gentle bites that tickle rather than hurt but it makes me nervous thinking she is going to bite and I move her.

My question is Is she loving and tasting me or is she telling me she is cross and wants to be put down. She sometimes is happy to sit on my lap and really chill with her legs stretched out so I'm just not sure what she is telling me.

Any help would be great. We have had her 8 weeks now and still no signs of pregnancy apart from putting on 50g per week. Am hoping she escaped.

It is more loving and curiosity from her. It could also be because she likes a skin care product you use.

Fingers firmly crossed that she has escaped. If you are still not seeing any signs then it is rather likely that she has been lucky!

Looks like you have a "licky" pig on your hands! Out of our 7 we have 4 that just love to "groom" us that we call "licky-pigs" - they will groom for ages and it is certainly not a pre-cursor to biting. If you are nervous you might feel like it is as sometimes you do feel their teeth but rest assured it is affection! If you have a partner you might find piggies have a preference too - our Poppy will only groom my husband not me and Pretzel likes to lick his face! Petal and Pip prefer me but Petal will groom my husband as well. Our other 3 have never licked at all but are just as chilled out. Just shows they are all different!

Thank you so much catasintiger. I am still trying to learn all their different voices and actions. This one took me by surprise and it is me she licks rather than my hubby and always the same place. I feel more confident to let her continue now. Love this forum for all it's help.

One of my piggies does this, but only to my Dad. When I asked him if I could get a kiss too he turned his backside towards me and kissed my Dad's other hand instead; so I know exactly where my place is.

My Dad doesn't even live with us, and Porthos doesn't even like me stroking him - but at least he's happy.

Hehe! They can be like that! sometimes when hubby and i are cuddled on the sofa I can see her head poking out the house just starting at me almost like "he's mine"! Pretzel made such a fuss of her self at the vets once hubby had told hold her and then she was fine - the vet found it very amusing! I often say I just hope it never comes down to me or Pretzel because i wouldn't like to make him choose! It's their individual personalities that i find so lovely they are all different and lovely in their own way :-)
