After the death yesterday of the lilac boy - I am so so saddened to report that the other two have passed away also.

I came down to find the 2nd already dead this morning at 6.30am.

The third was obviously very ill and was on its side. I have had to nip out this morning but upon returning it was also dead.

I had discussions with Sokel this morning and we can only think they were either not suckling from mum or there was something genetically wrong with them.

I just don't know.

That's 11 babies I have lost here in 3 weeks - I am devastated. I know these things happen but goodness me - no more please..........8...

Rest in Peace lilac babies.

I can't believe you have lost more, Helen, this is heartbreaking. Rest well, little lilac souls. xx

I'm sorry too Helen, but please dont hate yourself for this, its nothing you are doing.
I guess thats the problems with rescue sows, you have no idea what's in there genes/genetics or daddies.

Keep your chin up

I can't believe you have lost more babies 8...8...8...

I am so grateful my babies were rescued & survived & it's people like you who make that possible. Know that what you do does make a difference to the piggies you care for, even if some of them are not meant for this world. 8...8...

Hold onto the fact that the babies have all been reunited over the bridge & all the piggies who have gone before will look after them. Give extra hugs & kisses to mummy xx>>>

My manly quintet send hugs, squeaks & guinea kisses to you all

Oh Helen, I'm so sorry to hear this - been in the same position and it's just the most awful thing to go through. I would think they weren't 'right' when they were born - but they look so bright in the pics! What a pity. You'll never know why they were taken so soon, but at least they were born somewhere safe and warm and were loved while they were with you.

Oh Helen I'm so sorry! All I an think of is the stresses that mum was under before you took them all in perhaps caused some problems or a genetic defect was the cause.

Thinking of you. x

Beautiful lilac angels.

I'm so so sorry. This is such sad news.

Sleep well, little ones xx

Oh Helen, this is so awful for you. As we said when the last little poor souls passed away, the mums probably had a horrific time before they came to you, and all your love could not overcome the problems these babies were born with. Really really sorry. xxxxxxxx

Helen, I am so sorry to read your sad news, after the awful conditions the Mums came from it would have been amazing if they had survived.
At least the mums will be going to loving homes for the rest of their lives.

So sad for you Helen but it happens even with the best care which you give. Look forward and keep your chin up,all will be well.

Helen, I am so sorry to hear about all your late babies. All my thoughts are with you.

Sending you big hugs Helen - it must be horrid for you - but like everyone has said i guess it is par for the course with rescues with not knowing their background and also with them being stressed - you did your best for them though! x>>

Such a lot of heart break for you Helen, a very very sad time.

Be kind to yourself, love and hugs x x x

I'm sorry to here of your loss. I lost my baby chicken last week and I know excatly how you feel.
I had to watch it slowly die over about 6 weeks. And when we thought there might be a little hope, he went downhill.
It's not a nice feeling :(
I hope you feel better soon....
