Hi
One of our piggies has what looks like a cold sore right between her upper lips, but it is very hard to understand whether she's split her lip when gnawing something or it's infection. We had it happening to one pig long time ago and it was just a split lip.

We don't want to give our girl antibiotics if it's not an infection. Having read on guinea lynx it's not an immediately life threatening condition, so it's worth waiting a couple of days to see if she recovers.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

No, BellasMummy.
They have nuggets, hay, dried herbs (Dandelion salad from Sainsbury's).
Sweet bell pepper and carrots in the morning and in the evening. A handful of spinach a day and a pinch of fresh parsley and dill as a treat.

There are birch logs in the room that they like to gnaw, but her mouth doesn't look like it's injured, there is no blood, just a scab between her upper lips right in the middle.

Yes, Abi_nurse, she has a scab, but nothing as bad; it's not anywhere else around the nose/mouth, there's just one small scab right between the lips inside the crack.

What I'm trying to find out is if the spinach could have been a problem and if it's worth waiting for a couple of days in case it's not a fungal infection instead of giving antibiotics.
