Just catching up on this after having been to the vets myself (with dogs) - I hope Little Red rallies now and if you see her suckling from mum that will be a huge sign. Fingers and toes all crossed for you both Lisa.

Helen.

Aww, little Red, I hope with all my heart that the medicine works and she gets better soon.

Very sad to read that Little Red is so poorly. As you live in Cardiff could you let me know who your vet is? I have enquiries for pig savvy vets in the area and I'd like to add to my list. I use Lance Jepson but I don't think he visits as far as you.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your little girl.

I use Mark Bridges at Bridges veternary surgery in Pughs Garden centre in Cardiff. He's brilliant - really wonderful, knowledgable and kind.

Sadly I think I will be saying goodbye to my little sweetheart later.

Her legs seem very wobbly now and she's spending her time sleeping. I have my theories that she was protected by Dolly's baytril over the first 10 days. She was a very aggressive feeder and some of the baytril will have carried over - Dolly had a high dose.

It's been 7 days since Dolly had it and that's enough time for her to pick up a secondary infection :(

I had a very bad feeling this morning and sadly it looks to be right.

I am going to give her until the morning - see if there is a faint chance the baytril can do something overnight. But sadly I am losing my hope. :(

Oh Lisa I'm so sorry to hear about Little Red. Keep fighting. Sending healing vibes and keeping all fingers and paws crossed for you and your piglets. Kate x

Only just catching up with all threads! :(

So sorry Little Red is struggling! Lots of love and hugs being sent your way!x>>

I'm so sorry Lisa, will send out a prayer for Little Red and for you.

xx

Oh no Lisa, I'm so sorry that I've not replied sooner - been out all day & just saw your fb status. I can't believe this has happened when she was doing so well 8...
I'm keeping everything crossed for her, in fact my whole family are xx
Come on Little Red - hang in there sweetheart xx
Huge hugs to you Lisa x

I'm sorry to say my husband has just taken her to be put to sleep

she's started heaving and almost fitting. Her breathing is absolutely awful and she can't move her back legs. It's all happened so fast and knocked me for six. I am absolutely devastated and can't stop crying.

My poor little baby - that wasn't fair at all.

I'm so sorry, that's so sad. :( It's probably for the best though, there's not much you can do when they go downhill so fast. I had 3 cats die of pneumonia over the years, it's really horrible, and even though I tried everything to save them, and the vets did everything they could, it didn't work, so I know how you feel. :(

It's so unfair that you lost another one. :(

Oh Lisa I'm so sorry to hear your news. I had my fingers crossed when I saw you'd posted that it would be good.
Sleep well little one. Your little ones obviously needed to be together.

X
