Hey all!

I noticed my young sow Lola has two matching bald patches on her back, just above her hips. The skin is fine, no irritation or scaling, and she doesn't mind me touching it so I know it's not sensitive.

I only noticed this week as she's an Abyssinian and some of her tufts and rosettes hung over it.

Could it be something to do with her hormones? She's about 8 months old (I think, I'm sure they gave me the wrong dates in the pet shop).

Could we have some photos please?

Here are some pics, kinda hard to see with all her tufts. I haven't caught her scratching but I put a little coconut oil on her skin just incase.

May be worth mentioning that she's not pregnant, nor has any new food been introduced to her since I got her in September. She's on the same diet she's been on since then

I'm honestly not sure @Celine298 - because it's greasy looking I can't tell if that's her normal centre of the swirl. At the centre of the rosettes they look bald because if the way the hair grows. How does it look without oil?
My motto is if in doubt let the vet check it out. So if it looks like Something new then I would take her to the vet.

It could possibly be that she's both losing her baby coat and getting her first summer coat. She normally has two rosettes there but they're just bald now. She's in perfect health otherwise. I'm going to give her a little wash with warm water later and post a pic when she's dry
