George2015
New Born Pup
Hello,
Sadly, one of my boars passed away last night. Henry was six years old & had ongoing teeth problems. He had a three weekly dentist appointment with the amazing Simon & Kim at Cat & Rabbit Care in Northampton. If you haven't heard of them & your piggies have dental issues they are just incredible. They gave him an extra two years of life after no other vet could help him when the problem started back in 2015. We have travelled nearly two hours every three weeks for the past 2 years to get his teeth 'sorted'. Honestly, they work miracles.
Henry became unwell after last Wednesday & after two visits to Kim & Simon he sadly passed away during the night. He was such a warrior but this time we think age got the better of him & he couldn't fight any longer.
He leaves behind a gorgeous boar called George. We adopted George in the summer of 2015 after Henry's older companion Albert passed away from a respiratory infection that he couldn't fight. He was nearly six so age was also not on his side. It took us a while to find George, he had to be right for our little Henry! We adopted him from a lovely lady who had a few piggies but had struggled to pair him. He seemed perfect so we picked him up & the rest is history. They became the best of friends.
My husband & I are now in limbo as we can just imagine George loving the role as the only male in a group of girls. He's had 'the op' so can have a girlfriend. We think he'd be the best boyfriend! He is such a lovely pig. We want to make him super happy. We are wondering if maybe rehoming him with some lady friends is the way forward or us rehoming another pig. He is an indoor boy & is very energetic. Although he lives indoors with us he is out on lush grass everyday when it is not raining or too cold. He just loves life! He will make his new best friend/s the happiest piggy/ies.
At the risk of sounding like a wally, if we find a home for him we wouldn't commit to anything until we see the set up & meet the person who would be his new human friend. We just want what is best for him & it will break our hearts to say goodbye so it would have to be the best new home. The same set up as he is used to already. He is extremely pampered & we won't have it any other way!
I'm sorry if this post is muddled & ive babbled on... its been a long & sad night so I'm exhausted.
I guess what I am asking is if anyone has a group of girlies for my boy to join or knows of a little lady we can call our own?
Thank you for reading!
