Lonely Guinea Pig After One Dying?

My neighbours are really upset about a loss, and they now have one only. Could anyone give advice on what they could do please? Thank you.

Their little one really needs a friend as they are very lonely. If it is a boar they should take him boar dating through a rescue. That way he can choose his own friend.

In the meantime you could tell them to pop a stuffed toy (with no chewable bits .... you know how piggies chew stuff!) and that will give the piggie something to cuddle up to.

But yes piggie dating is wonderful..... have a look thru the rescues and get your neighbours to call them and explain their situation

the best way to find a new friend is by piggy dating at a reputable rescue. that way, the piggy can choose itself who it wants to share its life with (character compatibility is the key to a sucessful bond) and you only come home with another piggy if there has been success; so it minimises the risk. Good rescues will only rehome healthy, properly sexed piggies and any bonding will happen under expert supervision.

We may be able to recommend rescues if you could give us your area. It is really worth going that bit further to a good rescue! I have done so several times with bereaved piggies of mine, always with great success.
