What’s the general advice on Long haired piggies in the winter, Peppers fur is very thick and fluffy I have not cut it since the heat wave so it has grown pretty long now and very thick! Do I keep him long in the winter and just trim his bum? (He’s indoors)

I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to your question, but I must say what gorgeous hair Pepper has! 😍😍

being indoors then your piggy should be warm so I’d cut around his bum and anywhere it drags on the floor but perhaps also take some bulk off the top if you think it’ll make him more comfortable

My piggies live in my shed so i leave my long haired boy’s hair for warmth but I always make sure bum is kept short answer any hair which drags on the floor is kept short as if it is allowed to drag on the floor too much it gets tangled as they’re bedded on hay.

My past pig Sheepy was a very hairy boy too, I didn’t do anything different in the winter for him as he was also indoors, just the usual trims around his face and bum etc.
Pepper’s so gorgeous :luv::luv:

Thank you! I think a little trim is in order this weekend!

Thank you 💕

He is a very handsome sheep-piggy!
I would also agree to just keep his bottom area and skirts trimmed short, that's what I plan to do this weekend for my Blodwen who has long skirts because she's rather prone to wee pants and poopy hay dreadlocks around her rear end where her fur sweeps everything off the floor!

Ooh Pepper is beautiful! How old is he? He looks a lot like our Fuzzy in terms of hairstyle. She’s still only young, and I was wondering how long is might grow. I was also wondering if she might need a bum trim soon!

Awww she’s gorgous! They are pretty similar he’s around 9 months old, he has a few hair cuts in the summer though otherwise it would be much longer! Bum trims are essential!

He looks great! :luv::luv::luv:He really reminds me of my Sheepy with the way his hair grows, especially that fuzzy front bit! You should definitely be proud of that hair cut! :D:love:
Mine’s not far off, just red, when are you free?! :D

Thanks! Maybe I should start a side hussle... I did love playing with my girls world when I was little 😂

Come and do Fuzzy’s for me! You could start a piggy parlour.
Well I’m not quite at a pig standard (I do manage to get to the loo rather than do it in my bed!) but you’d probably have to ask my porkies! Definitely got enough hair for a bit of business! :)) :))
