Hi I'm a newbie on this forum and am desperate for advice !
Our Lovely Meggie sadley passed away yesterday and her friend Moonlight now seems really down and is not eating as much as normal , would it be safe to find her a friend or would she not settle with someone new? shes just over 2 and has never been on her own ,poor little mite :{

Hope someone can help please , this is a lovely forum

Love Pollysue xx

Hi, welcome to the forum. Sorry about Meggie. I am sure Moonlight would love another friend, there is usually not too much problem mixing girls. Have a look at the rescue thread, to see if there are any available near you. Good Luck. x

When my piggy Eliza lost her cage mate at the beginning of April, she became very with drawn and sad. They had lived together for 17 months and were inseparable. We took the decision to take on a rescue piggy 2 weeks later and Eliza is now so much happier. To begin with, they didn't get on as well as I had hoped but with in 2 weeks, Eliza and Eleanor became really good friends. Ellie has been with us for 11 weeks now and it is as though her and Eliza have always been together.
If you go for a rescue piggy, you will be greatly rewarded. Some rescues will even allow you to take your Moonlight along with you so that she can choose her own friend.
Sleep peacefully Meggie.
Good luck xx

Would southampton be near enough for you. Anna at wheek and squeak would be able to help you. If not I may be able to bring a piggie down but not while it is so hot as I am in Bristol.

I love Bosham. One of my friends lived there for years. We use to laugh at the tourists who would park there cars by the quay and not be able to get them because the tide had come in.

Hi thanks for your kind reply , Southampton would be fine I think will have to confirm with his lordship though !don't blame you not wanting to come from Bristol in this heat , it's too much isn't it ?

We have spent many happy hour watching peoples cars get wetter and wetter ! especially if thet're parked next to the this road floods every tide sign!XX

hi and welcome to the forum,

if you are still iffy about getting a friend for moonlight now,
i have read that you can put a mirror or a guinea pig sized cuddly toy in, i have put a toy in with my little ronny and he seems much happier

the toy may look big compared to ronny but he has a lot of growing to do:))
