One of my pigs, who was never a great hay eater, has gone super fussy since she was spayed a few months ago. I have been buying so many different hays, and I have loads of different ones on the go.

I think what she would enjoy would be some really fine textured meadow hay, but everything seems quite stalky. I got some Little One alpine hay, because I thought the texture would be ideal, and it is, but it is also very brown, but she is rooting through it looking for nice pieces. Can anyone recommend something with very fine pieces that's of decent quality at the moment?

Thanks for any help.

The last Nature's Own delivery I had was very fine and fluffy, my boys love it. The problem with hay is it varies so much due to which field it's cut from, weather etc so no 2 batches are the same.
Thanks! Was that the Devon Meadow Hay? I haven't tried that one yet.

Hello, you may have tried these in your tour of the hay companies but in case helpful!

Our fussy (or as she might say discerning) older lady Dottie has been hard to please on the hay front lately, but at the moment she seems to get on well with little hay company hay which has a nice meadow hay. She’s also a fan of their silky soft and Cotswold soft when she’s in the mood! They do small samples to test. Because she’s an older girl on end of life care, we give her whatever she seems happy with as she’s at risk of weight loss.

Hope your girl is doing ok after her spay apart from being a picky hay eater.
