Hi,
we took home 2 sisters on the 1st of February, they were 7 weeks old that day. They are generally well, they slowly started to be more tame, and braver, eating, urinating and pooing properly.
I was told they are siblings, the seller sold 7 piggies. They are quite different, Dumpling has a crown, softer fur, which seems to be a tad bit longer than a short haired piggy, and she's brown-white, while the other piggy (Crackers) is black-white, seemingly short hair, with no crown.
I measured them the day we got them, then a few days later and then again on the 10th day. Crackers looks fine, she lost a bit, but basically gained it back: 391g, 382g, 389g, she is braver, started to wheek for food and chatting a lot in the cage and out. She is walking around, eating and chatting in my lap too.
Dumpling however is still loosing: 372g, 369g, 345g. She also feel less plump than she was, I feel more of her bones than in Crackers. She was the shyer from the beginning, in our lap she had the proper freeze position, which is a better now, she accepts food, and chats sometimes, but still sits in one place instead of moving around. When they are out, she started to act like the gang leader, Crackers walks behind her, however they are still working this out, I see posturing and chasing sometimes. She is not running away instantly she see us when we are coming to the room to hide. She is eating, had romaine lettuce, pepper, grass, parsley, Science Selective (the seller told me they had this at hers) pellet yesterday, and of course as much hay as they want, so no issues about that.
Today she is still eating well, I saw her wee a few times, but she is sleepier a bit than I would like, mostly hiding in the hay or in their house. Crackers chased her around and she moved without any issue, and also moving around properly when she wants to though. I put her separately from Crackers, just to let her sleep and eat without disturbance. And after an hour I found one poop.
I measured her again tonight, she is 342g, but she was right after a huge wee.
Maybe it's just their different personality, or stress/adaptation to the new home, but I'm quite worried. Should I worry?

Well, you are worried, so the best thing to do is get to the bottom of it.
There are very detailed care guides pinned on appropriate forum threads here on weight etc but I can't find them rn. (Foggy brain.)

One thing I definitely remember is that once you start weighing your guineas, you should always do it at the same time, so not one morning before feeding, the next afternoon after feeding.

Hoping somebody better informed than me comes along and reads and responds to your post.

Thank you for your advice, I'll read the article. Also thanks for welcoming me. I wish my first post would be happier.

Hello and welcome to the Forum. You are clearly a very attentive owner and weighing regularly is a good way of identifying if there are any issues. At that age your piggy should certainly not be losing weight so please have her seen by a vet to check for any health issues which may not be immediately obvious (piggies are masters at disguising health issues – this is because they are prey animals). The weight loss you are describing is significant in view of her age and weight and therefore it is very important that she does see a vet sooner rather than later.

In the meantime please step in with some syringe feeding – I am attaching the link to the relevant guide to help you with this. You can feed her mashed up pellets if you do not have access to a recovery fee such as critical care or Emeraid etc
