My little piggy Charlie is about 4/5 and is loosing weight, any ideas on how to get it back on him ?

I haven't recorded results but just by picking him up you can tell straight away, plus when i bathed him he had some loose skin if you know what I mean

I think this is the rule Wiebke said.
1 oz/30g daily fluctuation between empty/full bladder/tummy
2 oz/50-60g go on alert and keep an eye on the piggy re. further weight loss and any signs of illness
3 oz/90-100g red alert. See a vet. if the weight loss has happened within a day or two, you need to see a vet as an emergency and start hand feeding because it means that piggy has stopped eating and drinking.

Please have him checked by a vet; that sounds like a fairly major weight loss. At that age, it can have lots of reasons.
It would be good if you weighed your piggies once weekly; that helps you to jude whether it is a slow gradual or a sudden major weight loss and to seek veterinary help early on when things are more easily treated.

If any of my piggies lose more than 75 grams / 3 ounces in a week they're booked into the vets straight away. So it is essential to weigh them weekly. If they do have a large weight loss then start weighing them daily. I find it best to weigh them the same time every time eg 1 hour after their morning veggies. Loss in weight is usually the first indication you get that something is wrong & 2 of the 3 piggies I've lost, passed away after an initial weight loss. In each case they went to the vets but despite treatment they slipped away. On the bright side though, I had another with weight loss & she pulled through so the quicker to the vets the better.

take him to the vets. weight loss is often the first sign of something wrong. x
