Losing my first, guinea pig

My darling Fiffer passed away yesterday.
I got Fiffer from Petsmart when he was around two months old. He was always a little ill all the time, I guess they didn't take good care of them. He was more than a pet, he was a member of our family. I would take him to the park and I would take him to pick out his own food, he would watch movies with me, my favorite was him helping me on my phone, he would turn it off with his nose. Yesterday I saw him laying in his cage on his side. He was still alive. I picked him up and all I could think to do was sing to him. He tried his best to snap out of it, and he gave me a goodbye lick. Since he died I have been constantly crying. He was barely 7 months old. I don't know why he died. It hurts so much. I'm afraid if I get another guinea pig that it will be like replacing him.
 
I’m so sorry you have lost Fiffer. I agree it sounds like he didn’t get a good start in life. But you gave him so much love in his short life and he knew just how much you loved him. Take care ❤️

So sorry for your loss. I had my little girl Gizzy for a short 2 years and she passed suddenly. One day I could tell she wasn't completely herself, and by that afternoon she was dying in my arms. I'm a grown man, 51 years old, and I cried like a child, I loved that little piggy. That happened about 6 months ago and I still miss her, and I didn't think that I wanted another one, but I ended up getting 2 more girls about 3 months ago...I don't regret it, and you won't either. You're not replacing him, no piggy could replace him, you're just filling a hole that he left...that's all. And, if I may suggest, get two piggies, they need companionship...I only wish I'd have known that for Gizzy...good luck to you.

So sorry you lost you lost your little soul mate, time will heal and all those memories you have of him will shine through x
