I lost my beautiful 5 month old female piggie called Daisy last week in tragic circumstances. My dog managed to get into the run and killed her. Luckily her sister, Jack, survived. Jack and Daisy were my little babies I loved her so much and feel so much guilt and upset that she has gone in such an awful away. I hate my dog at the moment too. We had a predator proof run but somehow my dog managed to get its nose in and managed to get in. Anyway jack has survived and I've got another little baby female and going to introduce them very gradually. Just struggling to come to terms with what has happened and feel that people just think she was just a guinea pig but I loved her so much.

I am truly sorry for your loss. How awful.I can understand you being mad at your dog but remember it's their natural instinct.I agree how a lot of people don't understand how much a guinea pig can worm its way into our hearts. Please feel free to leave a tribute to daisy in the rainbow bridge section.
Once again I'm very sorry.

I am really sorry for the tragic loss of your piggy. Please don't hate your dog, predatory instincts are very strong.

Please feel free to leave a memorial to your little one in our Rainbow Bridge section of the forum.

Sleep well little one

RIP Daisy

I am so sorry for your loss. RIP dear piggie. Basically dogs are predators and piggies are prey animals, so please don't be mad at your dog. I too have a dog. In fact he was my first pet. Initially when I introduced him to my piggies he would bark till the roof comes down and he would sometimes chase them. However I believe it is possible to train them and make them get along with the piggies. Yes, it is not an easy process. It varies from dog to dog. I suggest you to let your dog interact with the piggies (under your supervision of course). Take them out together, let them play in the lawn, when your dog barks or tries to misbehave raise your voice and correct him. He will eventually understand and start being supportive (trust me). These things worked for me, hope it helps you too. We can avoid any tragedies in the future. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your traumatic loss! ((HUGS)) to you.
