somehow my two of my three outdoor piggies managed to get out of their hutch. Ive no idea how as its completely secure meaning someone must've let them out. I've only been able to find oero who was hiding beneath it but there's no sign of alfie anywhere. They're only 5 months, I've only had them 3. And now oeros living alone and i feel so awful, there's so many cats around my neighborhood too:( i miss you alfie.

Oh that's awful, was this recent? did you put posters up etc?

Omg so sorry for your loss. Whoever let them out needs a good seeing to if they think that's funny. Is your back garden easily accessible by neighbours? Perhaps it's some brainless stupid kids? I really hope u find them before the cats do, I bet they are really terrified..

I'm so sorry, poor piggies. I hope you find them.

If you can't house your piggies indoors, or in a shed I would highly recommend fitting a lock onto your cages. It's been known for foxes to open hutch doors!

Hope you find them. I would also suggest a lock. Am really glad our piggies live indoors.

I hope by the time you read this that you have found your piggy ....but if not its worth putting out a pet carrier or box with an entrance hole - fill it with lots of hay, some nuggets and an aromatic veg like parsley / cucumber- if you have a shed that piggy could have hidden behind/under then this might be a good place to put the carrier /box. Failing that in a flower border or corner of the garden or next to the hutch? If piggy is hiding and hungry maybe you'll be lucky and fing him hiding in the hay in the morning :)
Also as Helen mentioned... place lost ads locally and ring round vets/ rescues to see if he's been taken in x

It's been 5 days now and no sign of him, I've asked around, looked around outside everyday and put one of his carriers outside with carrots and hay in but he hasn't showed up so I've had to accept that he's gone:( fortunately I had a successful bonding with his lonely brother and my lone 4 year old Piggie and they're getting along great which works out really well for them both. Also were hoping to buy a new shed as soon as we have some spare cash so I'm hoping to put them in there:) Thanks for the support guys,we miss you baby Alfie:(

I am very sorry that you haven't been able to find Alfie; it must be so gutting for you! Glad that you have found a solution for brother and your single boar.

Have you been able to make the hutches safer?

Sorry you have lost little Alfie. He could still turn up yet... And then what a story he could tell the others! Fingers still tightly crossed, just in case. X

I'm so sorry :( perhaps he'll just be hiding somewhere nearby as well and turn up!

Having your guinea pigs live outside is a terrible idea, Bring Oreo inside as soon as possible! Them living outside is a HUGE no no. Hope you find alfie!

You poor thing! You must be sick with worry. I really hope little Alfie turns up after all and very soon. I hope you find out who let the piggies out and give them a damn good thrashing! It just makes me so glad that I keep my piggies indoors. And I only put them out on the grass when I can stay with them.
Another thought ; do you have stoats in your area? If your hutch only has the wooden door latch that you turn to open, a stoat could have got in and taken Alfie. Or a fox, as someone else said.

Hey did u get any luck? I'm guessing u might have brought them inside now for the winter due to the weather but if you suspect someone let them out intentionally then see if you are able to place locks on the catches somehow.

I'm so sorry! That's awful! :( I hope you find him soon. Make sure the door of the hutch is secure, and maybe put a lock on it. Again, so sorry!
