I was putting Lu back in the cage and was about 8 inches from setting her down when she jumped out of my hands. She hit the side of the cage with her head then flipped and landed on her back. I immediately picked her up to check her over and she let out a loud squeek. She didnt flinch when i checked her legs. Shes moving around the cage, eating drinking pooping, and shes letting me pet her which she only does on the rare occasion. She seems ok, climbed up the side of the cage for her "mom is sorry" grape. But had me worried for quite a while.

Please tell me these creatures are tougher than they appear20210727_160456.webp

Oh no, that sounds like a hard fall.
Yes, with luck they are pretty tough. I have had two really hard falls in all my years with piggies and in both cases without bad consequences. And I think they scared me more than the piggies.
But if you are in any doubt, please get her checked by a vet.

Poor Lu. Hope she’s ok. Keep a close eye on her and get her seen if you are worried 👍🏻

Aw, Lulu hope you are all fine, don’t scare your Mummy like that x

Poor Lulu - what a fright for you
Hope every one recovers from the scare and there’s no damage done

Lu seems ok today. She wheeked at breakfast and even popcorned for lettuces. She wont let me touch her, which is the norm.

Hopefully she’s fine. My boar did this and he seemed all well but when I took him to the vet a few months later he was xrayed and had actually damaged his spine. I felt awful! He never acted as though anything was wrong.
