Lump on young guinea pig's back

My baby is about 11 months old. He seems otherwise healthy, but he has this large lump on his back. I have attached an image. I was wondering if any of you have experience with this kind of lump on your guinea pig. Could it be serious and does it warrant a trip to the vet?

All lumps should be checked by a vet. It's impossible, without a hands on examination, to say what the lump is.

Definitely a vet trip, as only a hands-on examination can tell you what the nature of the lump is, which then determines the way forward.
Please note that the vast majority of lumps are pretty harmless, but they still need dealing with appropriately.
