This is going to have to be brief and to the point! Maisie's breathing is funny, rapid and when I held her up to my ear, I think I can hear a clicking.
I have made an appointment with the vet, for 3pm, but it's not MY vet, so I really need advice PLEASE!
What should I expect?
What drugs should I be given?
What can I do?
I've just started to feel confident after her leg surgery, I don't need this! I feel like I'm been thrown in the deep end, again!, and I didn't enjoy it last time:(

Sorry to hear Masie is unwell. The vet should listen to her breathing and if they suspect a URI will probably give you some Baytril, if they suspect fluid in the lungs some vets may prescribe a diuretic (Furosemaide) Baytril has cleared up our girls minor URI's in the past.

It is worth getting some probiotic to give during the course of Antibiotics such a Avi-pro plus http://www.vetuk.co.uk/dog-suppleme...probiotic-products-c-5_172/avipro-plus-p-1225 as this will help Masie's tummy while she is on the AB's, alternatively you could give her Poo-soup made with poo from a healthy guinea pig - this will help the good bacteria in your piggies tummy.

Best of luck and healing vibes for Masie x

I'm just back from the vets, he says he doesn't think she is in a very bad way, whatever it is we've caught it quick, her breathing is labored and quick, but her lungs don't sound caught or fluidy and she doesn't have a temperature, but there is definitely something going on, so he gave her an anti-inflammatory injection and one of antibiotic, we are home with baytril to be given at a dose of 0.2ml twice daily. She is still moving around normally and interested in her food, I haven't seen her drinking since last night, but that's is because I wasn't looking, but I'll keep a check on it and everything else from now on :...

Aw, its good nothing is seriously wrong but a shame no definite answer given. It will be worth giving her a nice treat straight after the baytril to take the taste away, if you are not confident or experienced in syringing med's please ust ask. xx

Pleased Masie is back and ok. Agree with Toffeewoffee Baytril tastes awful so a treat may sweeten the deal! Hope she feels better soon

You can also sweeten it with a little fruit juice too, I had to do that with mine when on baytril otherwise she just spit it out!
