Major Problem.

Just been sitting here and have had to jump up and seperate Bodger my skinny and his friend Jet.

They have not been getting along very well of late and have just had a major fight, flying around the cage at each other.

I cant risk either of them getting hurt so have taken jet out as he is bigger and younger than Bodger. Now I have to house him and havent got a spare cage, except one that girls have been in.

HELP!
 
This has happened to me a few times with my boars! Try 15-20 minutes time out and pop them together again in a neutral space (couch or somewhere) with some yummy veg/herbs and see what happens. I tell mine off too ;D Naughty boys ;)

If not, well you had better clean out that cage :P
 
To be honest I have had to taken them apart a few times lately, I think tonight was the climax of it. With Jet being so young and Bodger being a skinny I cant risk injury to either of them.

I have put Jet in a large cat carrier for tonight and will scrub the other cage tomorrow, thankfully its plastic but it will mean Jet having to move outside which causes me a problem as I dont have a spare hutch and I cant have another cage indoors as I have 3 large ones inside already.
 
Aww boys....it is a shame when it happens but I am sure it will work out for the best ;)
 
Yeah.....I hate to have single boars though. If Jet has to go outside it will mean trying to find a young friend for him or maybe even rehoming him and he is such a cutie. Its really upsetting as Jet and Bodger have been together since Jet was about 10 weeks old and he was a rescue.
 
I must admit I hate to see single boars as well. I originally started with 2 who fell out, which then turned into 4 so each could have a friend. Bloomin boys ::)
 
I have that hutch for sale if its any help? Hopefully the new cage should be here by mon or tues.
 
Update - I tried putting the boys back together but it didnt work, infact I got nipped slightly when I had to seperate them again.

Thanks, I have got some cages sorted now, am using one that normally sits on a pen as a temp cage but have got two coming from a friend, they are only boar cages but will do for now. I plan to keep Jet at the moment if I can as he is so sweet, this does depend on how he gets on though now that he is in the shed. He has been used to living indoors since he was small, thankfully it was nice and warm for a few hours this afternoon so I could put him outside to settle in before the temp dropped too much. I have given him lots and lots of hay to snuggle in so I'm sure he will be fine.

Unless I can then find him a friend later on I may have to rehome him, fingers crossed I wont have to though. Even if it means I have to try and get a bigger hutch for him later on.
