Male or female guinea pig?

My female guinea pig passed away due to an accident, I'm thinking of adopting another one to be a friend with Butter - the one still alive. I'm afraid Butter will get lonely and depression. Which gender should I be looking for? My baby girl who just passed away was very sweet and cuddly. Based on your experience, which gender usually has more personality? Butter - a male guinea pig is very calm and doesn't get too close to human.

I really feel you should reflect on the build up to why your poor guinea pig was involved in an accident.... And why you weren't informed about the accident until after she died... Before you consider getting another.
