I need advice, Kenya has currently developed a hard lump under one nipple with blood coming from the nipple, he's also got a lump on the lower right bum and I can't get his willy to come out, almost like its sewn shut. I'm currently looking at getting him to the vets but I'm a bit worried about emergency fees as my vets will shut tonight at 5pm and my partner is yet to be home. I'm contacting my specialist to see him tonight then possibly.

Please anyone who's had a male pig with this tell me how much it cost you and whether its easy to treat... I'm so scared he's going to die and my other pigs just getting better... :/

I am very sorry your little one is poorly. I took Ehab to the vet as I could not get his penis to come out to clean it. She said the muscles are floppy around it and he needed an operation when he was younger to remedy it. This is why he will sit in his wee.

I am sorry to hear your boy has these lumps :( Any lumps and bumps should be checked by a vet especially those around and underneath nipples. Please remember that there are many different causes of lumps and although they can happen, cancerous lumps are rare in guinea pigs.

As for price, it varies between vets and depends on certain factors like they type and location of the lump.

I only have sows. Eliza has a lump near her nipple but it has been confirmed as a harmless fatty lump. Erin has a lump in her side which again has been confirmed as a fatty lump.

Eleanor had four lumps removed from her belly in the summer which turned out to be non cancerous tumours. The price was almost £180 and that included lump removle, analysis of the lumps and post op care etc x

Thank you for that, I hope its nothing.serious and our vet is ok priced so may be similar.
Its about the size of a 5p coin under his left nipple which is swollen & bled a tiny bit. I took Cally out of the cage and got his willy out easily but Kenyas wont budge, it seems to hurt him as he tried to bite my cheek.

I'm waiting for Paul to ring me Claire, if the mammory can wait and he can help the swollen bum and penie problem then vets tomorrow or Monday otherwise we'll take him tonight. Always a weekend and straight after my birthday :/ x

Since hes bleed the lump has reduced slightly, with the help of my OH got his penie open and cleaned had caked white stuff on it. Cleaned his bum completely and the lump at the side of his bum is gone. He however still has a red inflamed top lip and a patch where cally licked him in reassurence. What medicine cream can I use to help that heal. Salt water ok? How about the lip? I will make an appointment on Monday though as I do want him checked out.

Good news that the lump has gone down but yes, I would still recommend a trip to the vets for a check over and proper diagnosis.

Cooled boiled water with a pinch of salt is a good saline solution to use but please don't use any creams or anything.

Good luck at the vets :)

The lump reformed when we got home from my moms, I salt watered the sore on his ball, the nipple just to prevent any infection and his top lip. I don't understand why his top lip is red, it's not like he's bitten anything or they'd had a fight. He's pooped and I let him stay with me until he urinated, so we know he can pass both which is good, still drinking, still eating, no pain atm either. We will get him to the vets Monday, my rodentologist said that he's had pigs who get these lumps and if they don't grow should be okay without an op to remove them as very rarely are they cancer. It's helped me calm down although I still want him examined but I won't be pushed into getting it cut out if it will put pressure on him he doesn't need to go through.

A couple of times a day okay with the salt water?

Okay after vets visit, I've been given Baytril to give to him, 0.4ml twice daily. I haven't yet started it as I've been very busy, she believes it'll bring down the inflamation and then we have to discuss an operation but didn't say anything else about it :/ so I'm not sure how long I'm suppose to wait. It's moved/changed shape, it's only under one nipple now instead of across his abs and his nipple bleeds daily, i don't know if I'm meant too but I kinda of drain it gentle every night. Is that okay to do?
