Hi ppl my smudge seems to be responding to treatment for his mange another injection at weekend and bath on tues it was the first time I picked him up and he never made that awfull cry bless him I still feel bad iv had him a year now and he has screamed since a baby if only I saw the signs in the early days I'm such a bad mum feel terrible

Please don't beat yourself up about it. It's often very hard to spot problems with guinea pigs as we all know and many vets even those with many years of experience can find them hard to diagnose. Piggies can't tell us what hurts by any other way and be sure he'll be feeling a lot better now he's getting treatment and won't hold it against you.

These things are well hidden. Once you noticed you dealt with it and that is all that matters. I hope it clears soon.

I'm so glad the treatment is working so fast I have to take his playmate gizmo to this time the vet wants to give him a injection to be on the safe side but to me he seems ok his fur fine and no dry skin

I'm glad he is started to feel better, these things are ever so hard to notice particularly if it is a new pig- especially when you don't know their normal behaviours. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Makes sense to give preventive treatment to the other piggy as well.Pleased he is getting better

Glad that he is responding to treatment and is better. Please don't bathe him unless your vet is telling you to. Bathing can make painfully inflamed mage skin feel worse.

You always need to treat all piggies living together for infectious parasites and fungal problems to prevent the spread and return.
