Marigolds

can guineas have Marigolds ? if so can i just pick them from the garden & what part can they eat (flower,leaves,stems) ?
they were bought from aldi and have been planted in wall planters
please if anyone knows :)
 
yeah they can ive just given my some now actually, i just give mine the flower which is demolished in seconds! lol

I'm not sure about the leaves, i dont give them to mine but the flower is fine :)
 
forgot to mention make sure they are not sprayed with anything like insecticide or anything, it may harm the piggers..id give them a quick wash anyway just to make sure nothing is on them :)
 
i think calendula, generally known as pot marigolds..ive been researching for my torts n they can only have calendula and they seem to be able to eat the same things as guinea pigs and stay away from others..i assume thats what ive got planted anyway..ive always just fed whichever marigolds were growing in my garde :)
 
well i tried them i picked the best and washed them put them in his dish and he looked at me good enough to say i ain't eating that :o had a smell and left them.
 
Yes he is well fussy tried him with lots of things i`ve read on here he just pulls his nose up at corn on the cob, parsley or any other herbs, peppers, pea pods, celery leaves, he won`t eat any, i only buy new things to try now if they are reduced as i waste to much money when he dont eat it.
he loves dandelion, clover, grass, cucumber, carrot, nectrine, apple, pear, cherries.
 
oh yeh try banana my boys are extra fussy like that and both tuck into banana, dont give too much as it can constipate them

if you have monkey flower/mimulus flowers all 7 of mine love them! they come in bright shades so they look nice too :)

I`ve never tried Banana will give it ago,
not heard of monkey flower/mimulus flowers
 
if you look on ebay there are seeds on there, and when the bedding plants come out you can buy them really cheap :)
