Ooh - he's lovely x)
Could be a Rex as they have straight whiskers I believe but am far from an expert ;)
He's a chunky boy for sure - will he be having a little friend soon ?/

teddies are smaller than rex with straight whiskers, rex are larger with curly whiskers both coat seem dense and tough looking

i do hope to get him a freind, I'm abit concerned he doesnt appear to have eaten anything though :( could this just be part of settling in? what do you recomend, freind wise another male? younger than him. hes 13 months old or a female thats been neutered? any help lovley people is much appreciated, thank you :{

It will take him time to settle - it's a lot for a little one to be moved into a 'strange' environment.
They tend to eat when no one is around if nervous so give him time...keep his pellets/nuggets/hay etc. and veggies fresh.
Boar dating would be the best option so Marmalade can choose his own buddy - check rescues locally who offer this service :))

thats excellent advice will do that. do you know of any off hand in derby, nottingham or ripley areas? where would i find out this info please?:aJFBQ00142070108C:

Aww, what a cutie he is! Where did you get him from?

Definitely find him a friend, he will be much happier and you will see it in his behaviour! The best thing to do is take him to a rescue to go 'boar dating' guinea pigs can be choosy with who they like and the rescue will be able to advise and support you with the right decision!

If he doesn't start to eat soon then let us know, have you tempted him with some yummy veggies? Maybe he has eaten some hay in secret :)) he will take some time to settle down, hope this helps, he's lovely!

Maybe he has eaten some hay in secret :))
:)):)) that made me smile. Bertie sits eating hay and then rushes up to the bars as if he is starving with a bit of hay sticking out of his little lips. Keep us posted he does look cute!

Give the handsome gentlemen a kiss on the head from Peanut, Latte, and I! He is adorable! My Peanut is also a new addition to the family. He has had a URI, but if he isn't sneezing on Monday, he will be back with Latte! He gets off his meds on Sunday. I just want to pet Marmalade's chin!

He's gorgeous! I would say he looks more like a Teddy than a Rex <<<< that's my Daisy she's a Rex & has curly whiskers & her fur has little hairs that stand up from her body fur.

I would leave him in his cage with some food scattered around near his hidey & lots of hay, cover the cage over one end so he has some darkness for a couple of days & just leave him to settle before starting to handle him. If he's over a year old he should be used to handling already really :)

awww gorgeous, but I am biased as he's the spitting image of my Fuzzy- I think he's a teddy cross.:))

Good luck finding him a buddy- The potteries in stoke on trent arent too bad a journey, i got fuzzy's pal from them.

Aww he's gorgeous and looks really cuddly. x)

I have two beautiful fuzzy teddy girls and they are very cuddly.

a gorgeous boy x)

Quite possibly a mix of teddy and rex but I would edge towards more the teddy, he seems to have slightly longer hairs than most rexs I have seen.

To help you a few pics of crystal who is my rex, firstly the whiskers

and the coat, even spikey effect all over for her

But whatever the breed, he is lovely.

Yes it will take him time to settle and eat, mine ate when I was away from them when I first brought them home, and when I moved them from the hutch to their inside accommodation for the winter they were hiding and not really eating. Now they shout at me to hurry up with their food :))

What a cutie! Don't worry you'll soon see the food mysteriously dissapearing when our not looking!

Aww he's scrummy ^)

Look on the rescue and rehoming section and you'll find the Piggy Bank with links to reputable rescues near you. I'm sure you could go boar dating so he can find his perfect companion.

He's soooo beautiful and fuzzy x) x)
