Boogie&Dingo
Junior Guinea Pig
I use to have guinea pigs as a child and in April my mum surprised my buy buying 2 8 week old piggies I called the Boogie and Dingo.
Sadly Dingo got diarrhea at 11 weeks and passed away. I treated Boogie with anti biotics just in case he had it too.
I had a look on gumtree for a single adult boar and found Alfie.
The lady I got him from had re homed him from the adoption bit at Pets At Home, he had been left outside the shop. She had him for 2 months.
When I took Boogie to meet him his cage had hardly any bedding in it and it was soaking and covered in poo. He smelled really bad and all she was feeding him on was pellets and apples, with seeds and the sticker still on it!
When I got him home I noticed he had poo stuck to his bum. I took him to the vet the next day and he cleaned up his poor bum and gave him anti biotics and told me to bath his bum every now and then with soap he gave me. Poor Alfie did not like the baths and is a little unsure when he is being handled.
Boogie and Alfie have been in separate cages side by side so they could get to know each other. Once Alfie had finished his medicine I cleaned out Boogies cage and put them both in the pen in the kitchen, they got on really well, some rumbling and some mounting each other. I put them in the cage and they seemed to enjoy exploring it. Here are some photos of them in their cage together.
Psst I want to tell you something
