So Meg had her half day at the vet today, and when I went to pick her up they said they had removed a bladder stone (by hand, it was almost out) they had noticed in the x Ray, but otherwise she was perfectly healthy as far as they could see. She had been in to find the cause of a couple of seizures she had. They said she was eating and pooping OK but was still shaky after the sedation for the x Ray. I took her home and she was shaky but was munching away on the hay, sometimes falling asleep with her head in it. The vet nurse had said she was very tired. So far so expected. However about an hour or so ago she started making a heartbreaking little whimper sound which has increased in regularity over the last hour. She has been given meloxidyl. At first I thought it was a vocalisation but it seems to be in time with her breathing so now I'm not sure. She is doing a twitch of the ears and shiver after each sound. I tried to get it on video but it is not picking up the noise, however here is what it looks like. She is still eating OK.

Anyway, while I was trying to upload the videos, she suddenly perked up, opened her eyes completely stopped making the noise. I put her back in the cage and she is starting to make the worrying noise again. It almost seems like she's half asleep and snoring. Can anyone shine a light on what is going on? Is this normal after sedation?

Aw, poor little Meg! I have no experience of any noise made after a GA, just sending you both hugs and hope she is alright x

Thanks for the hugs, they must have cheered Meg up because she got steadily better. The noises died out and she looked more alert. She has been fine today, so I think it was just a mix of the effects of sedation and her feeling sorry for herself. She is currently munching on some hay and is back to bossing everyone else around

Sending Meg healing vibes and a big hug for you, it's so worrying when our fur babies are poorly. X
