Last time Meg went to the Boarders was about a month after Pretty Patsy toddled of the The Rainbow Bridge. Meg maintained her weight while she was at home in familiar surroundings and she still had The Ever Beautiful Betsy as her friend. Meg lost around 100g in 2 weeks whilst at the Boarders. She put it back on when she got home in around 10 days of twice daily recovery food. She was clearly unsettled after losing her friend and not being at home. Meg is now a lone piggy and has been since The Ever Beautiful Betsy went to be with the love of her life Cutey Pie Dennis at the Rainbow Bridge. I did try and bond her with Lexi and Thea and whilst Thea accepted her, Lexi was having none of it and they ending up in a rolling jumping ball of piggy fight.

Meg is going to the Boarders on Friday along with Lexi and Thea and clearly they won't be in the same hutch. I'm wondering whether to take the Recovery food and ask Lucy (the boarder) to weigh Meg every day and if she loses more than 30-50g in a day then top her up twice a day. Meg will eat it straight out of the bowl so no syringe feeding will be necessary. I'm just worried Meg may feel unsettled again as she won't be at home.

What do you all think?

I would happily look after meg,and syringe feed her, take to vet if needed, but I. Suspect I'm too far away.but the boarder should be prepared to do the same.xx
Yes Lucy is prepared to do what is necessary and will look after Meg and the other two. She said last time that she only really noticed the weight loss in in the last couple of days. I trust her with my piggies and she has looked after them since I moved here.

I agree, I would take it, have a lovely time. We are off to Southwold at the weekend for a few days. Piggies are off to Mariar’s animal sanctuary for their hols 😁
I've been going to Southwold with my mum every September for the last few years. It's her home town but she hasn't lived there for 70 years. Have a lovely time.
