I have read that they can have melon occasionally but how much do you give? I have a honeydew currently so thought I might try a little as a treat, I'm obviously not going to give them a massive chunk but what is a reasonable amount? Do they eat the skin or just gnaw down to it or do I give without the skin?
Thank you

You can give it with the skin although not all piggies will eat it. I only feed melon in the summer as an occasional treat but I cut it in to cubes and give them a few pieces each

Thank you, will perhaps try them with a little next time I cut some.

I occasionally give mine a sliver of skin with whatever is left of the flesh after I’ve eaten it.
They love it

I give mine a small triangle of skin each very occasionally just like @Merab's Slave does with whatever is left of the flesh. I weighed the pieces the other day just out of interest to see if all three pieces were about the same weight and they were around 18g each. :)

Thank you that's really helpful, they probably won't like it now!
Just thought it might be a nice treat.

Mine don’t get fruit often - a couple of blueberries or a slice of apple once or twice in the summer, they don’t seem to be fans of fruit - I remember giving them a strawberry slice last summer and they actually backed away from it and went out of their way to avoid being near the scary item! Was very odd to see!

My lot love strawberry tops and there is always just a tiny bit of strawberry attached as an added bonus.

Micah loves strawberry tops but carefully avoids the strawberry bits. The girls aren’t bothered.
They all reacted to mint the way @Piggies&buns do to strawberry.
It was actually funny watching Priscilla reverse so fast she bumped into the back of the cage trying to avoid the horrible mint.

Mine were like that with mint first of all. Then they got used to the taste cos it was in some forage. Now they like it.
