So I've discovered now that its getting cold, we have a mouse in our house. It has of course located to my room and the other night while I was playing on my computer I heard a weird noise and the mouse was drinking out of the guinea pigs water bottle! I freaked out and washed the bottle good, but if it did it once it will do it again. My cage is on the floor because its so big. The pigs don't seem to mind it, I wish they would chase it out. :))

BUt does anyone know anything that keeps mice away? Something I could put around the cage? OR should I just set traps up (which I hate) and get rid of it that way?

Help.

yes you need to get traps, not ones that kill, but ones that get caught in there.

do not leave it, they are not good for your house an will eat away at wooden supports, floor boards etc and can cause serious damage to your house which can end up costly. you will get to know where it ism, esp during night as you will hear it. just set up some traps and hopefully it will get it. then take it as far away form the house as possible so it will not be able to come back in.

There really isnt any other way without poisoning it and killing it which I'm sure is something you dont want to do.

I wouldn't want to use one of the sonic deterrants near the guinea pigs, best bet Is a humane trap with chocolate Inside.

Hi,
I used to have a problem with mice when I kept rabbits. The problem with mice is they have no bladder control and wee everywhere ! So we used to trap them in a humane trap and release them in the woods. Good luck and I'm sorry to say that if you have one then you will have more ! Sorry @)
