hi all, i've got an appointment for my girls this afternoon. scabby patches are still there, and a new one has appeared on peach's nose. if it is ringworm or mites, and they're prescribed treatment, will i be able to use it on them, as they're only 9 weeks old? posting this as i looked at getting some products from gorgeous guineas but they don't advise using their shampoos on piggies under 12 weeks of age.

Imaverol can be used for all types of fungal including Ringworm from a young age. I have known it used on week old babies. It is a dip that can be bought online or through the vet. I will post a link if fungal is diagnosed. Have no internet today at work so posting on my phone.

For mange mites the vet will know what treatment is appropriate.

It does sound like Ringworm to me though.

Also Gorgeous Guineas products won't treat Ringworm.

Your vet should know which products and at wich strength are safe/suitable to use on young guinea pigs.

Ivermectin for mange mites for instance comes in different concentrations. There is one for that is safe to use on young piggies.

Exotic specialist was off ill today so saw one of the junior vets. Diagnosed with fungal infection :( he wasn't entirely confident and I've got another appointment with the vet I was supposed to see in a fortnight's time.
