Missing Nail

George was out today running around, popcorning normally. I was watching him eat some hay and noticed he was holding one paw up. He seems to be missing an entire nail from his front foot. I found tiny drops of dried blood on his bedding so I don't know when or what happened. I don't know what to do?
 
Is he still limping? I would take him to the vet to make sure there's no infection, and to get some pain relief. Maybe he caught is on something and ripped it off. Must be sore, poor guy. Let us know how you get on.
 
I agree with Elwickcavies, sound like it is a painful for him.
 
He wasn't limping, he just held it up once, it probably felt a bit awkward to him. He was still running so I left it because I think it had probably been like that a while. He's fine now.
