Misty (Fat Boy as his granda liked to call him) February 2006- 17th April 2009

I can't believe I'm even typing this because it doesn't seem like you have gone. I don't realise you've gone untill I walk into my room and see Sam's cage where yours should be. I still remember the day I got you. 5th June 2006 on the way home from hospital. Mum and dad were wanting something to help keep my mind off things and I decided I waned a piggie. Your grandad wasn't very happy at the price everything came to when we got you but granny couldn't have cared less. I remember Cheeko going upto Joyce's so we could have you out your cage for awhile and right away you started talking to me and right up until your last day you would talk to anyone who gave you a cuddle. Sometimes we couldn't hear the TV because you spoke to much with the same story over and over. You always showed the white of your eyes when you wanted a bit of basil and you looked so cheeky we would give you a bit everytime. You fought off so many illnesses and we can't believe a chest infection was the end for you. Only a year and a half ago we were told it was kindest to put you to sleep because you had such a deformed mouth due to inbreeding and chances were you wouldn't eat ever again but we were determind to prove them wrong and we done it. You loved your food more than ever after that. Once we lost Sooty and Brandy and got the girls you suddenly became a young piggy again and would go crazy as soon as you heard someone near their cage or if someone mentioned the word 'girls' you would go crazy and enjoyed seeing them through their cage each day. You loved your igloo aswell and would have it on your back everywhere you went in your cage, always finding a way of moving it whilst being in it. Now no one squeaks when we go near the girls cage and the girls have been up looking for you each day. No one squeaks anymore each time I walk into my room. You loved it when I said 'Hiya Mist' as high as I could. You were my first piggie and started the piggie addiction. You were also my favourite and most loved piggie and always will be. I loved watching your ears and nose get darker and lighter as the months went by. I'm still denying the fact you have gone. You were small but had a big impact on my life. You were there when everyone from school ditched me and you'll never know how much you got me through. Rest in peace wee man. I'll never forget you or stop missing you. I hope you've now found Sooty and Brandy at the rainbow bridge and they're looking after well with lots of lovely basil xxxxxx

that really touched me =[
i'm so, so sorry for your loss. it sounds like you had an absolutely brilliant friend there as well as a beautiful pet who looked as though he had so much character.
sometimes a person or animal comes into our lives and we forge such a deep bond with them; it sounds like you had that and you're so lucky you've got so many happy memories of your time together.
Misty really was a beautiful boy- i saw his picture and my jaw literally dropped.
sending you lots of hugs
RIP <3

Sorry for your loss :( He sounds like a gorgeous, sweet and loving guinea pig and the bond you shared was clearly a very strong one! May he now R.I.P, and I hope that with time your pain eases :(

I'm so sorry that you lost your special one - your first, and what a character into the bargain!

May Misty lay a strongly scented trail of basil in the form of lots and lots of precious memories in your heart. They cannot be taken from you!

RIP

Big hug from
Vicky

So sorry to hear about Misty 8...8...8... Out first piggies always seem to be the ones who put the biggest paw prints on our hearts & it is so hard when they have to leave us.

Like you I had a pig who fought through so many illneses & who died of pnuemonia - which he had fought & beaten the year before. It makes no sense when this happens, but sometimes it is time for them to go over the bridge - before we are ready for them to go. 8...

Hold on to your truly precious memories. From your tribute there are many. Remember the good times & his handsome little face. x) It will be hard for a while & difficult for you & the girls to adjust to life without him. But know that he will be happy over the bridge being looked after the your piggies who have gone before him.

Don't forget to allow yourself time to grieve - believe me, you will need it especially for a very special man. Don't listen to others who tell you to 'get over it'. It takes time for the pain to subside & the hole in your heart from his guinea paws to heal.

My manly quintet are sending hugs & squeaks to you & the girls

Michele

**Misty you were a beautiful gentleman and your mummy misses you very much. If we see an extra bright star in the sky tonight we will know that is you and that you are safely at rainbow bridge. Run free little Misty!

...wow...thats such a sad story:0 he sounds like he really had one heck of a personality. butt youll get through it. think about it this way: he wants you to love and take care of his girls inbreedingas much as you loved and took care of him. and your girls probably want support in going through this grief. so take care <3

So sorry to hear about Misty passing over Rainbow Bridge.

He was your first piggy and left a huge pawprint on your heart! A very handsome chap x>> ... you must be very proud of him.

Run free Misty xx

I was reading your post and he nearly brought tears to my eyes :-( i am so sorry for your loss. I have a favourite piggy, he sounds like your little fellow and I dread the day that this will happen to him as he's the best piggy ever and is the only one who will let me put my head in the cage and let me kiss his head!my thoughts are with you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks everyone. :) Can't beleive it's a week already. The girls are still not back to themself. The boys are just about back to normal but alot quieter. Bet he's looking down glad he's escaped the madness of this week with all the piggies and Miffy being shipped upto dad's for a week atleast :))

Wales he was the same with letting me put my head into his cage. He would go right up onto his back legs and try and eat my hair.

Misty certainly leaves a big hole - and it won't fill that quickly...
All the best to you all!

Perhaps, when the time is right for you, you can make an album with your favourite pics and anecdotes? It helped me with Minx (she of my avatars); but it took a few months before I was able to tackle it!
