Hi all, sweep is in the wars at the moment as along with his bacterial infection on his nose he has bald patches on his feet? I showed the vet and he suggested it was from grooming himself however since then it has got bigger so I imagine that's not the cause. Can anybody shed any light on it for me?

Hiya!

I don't think that it is mites. Make sure that he hasn't got simply naturally pink skin there. Mechanical abrasions on the front feet and legs are quite common from frequent "washing". If it looks a bit angry, you can use a soothing cream like bepanthen and see whether it is getting better with that.

good to see that the scab has come off and that it is healing off well.

Okay great thank you, I will try some soothing cream . I was just a little worried as his feet used to look like this?

Woo - hoo, he's stunning xoxo I have four Himalayan piggies and they are sooo lovable :)
Hope his ickle feet are ok - have you changed bedding at all ? Himi's markings can change with the weather too, ours have become slightly lighter on their extremities with the heat we're experiencing.

He's gorgeous. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about on his little feet. I would follow wiebke's advice and watch that it isn't spreading. :)

Aw thank you! And I didn't know that, how interesting! No I haven't changed the bedding so I'll just keep a watchful eye.

And thank you, will do!

Hi all, just a quick update.
I got some mite treatment from my vet as his foot was becoming slightly scabby and looked to be getting worse rather than better. Now it's less red and angry and there looks to be some good hair regrowth on one of his toes, should be back to his healthy little self in no time!
