Hi all, when my vet treated one of my piggies for mites with a topical solution, he told me to separate her from her daughter until the next day as the treatment could kill her if she licked it.
I've since bought spot-on treatment as I want to treat all my piggies and I need to figure out the logistic - how long should they be separated? Is 12 hours enough? Or is that being too careful?
I'm concerned that I have not seen a warning on the pack or anywhere else to separate pigs that are treated with ivermectin and I'm struggling to find clear sources on the subject.
Do you guys have experience with this?
Another thing, can a combination of mites and grief depression due to loss of a cage mate lead to impaction? It happened very suddenly to Starbuck after Apollo passed away and he appears to have mites now as well so he's being treated today.
