How do you know if your guinea pig has got mites!?

Ive just been outside to hold Daisy and noticed that some of her fur has little black things in, I don't know whether it's just dirty!
She hasn't lost any fur, her coats lovely and soft! She's molting loads tho!
If I got Xeno and treated the both of them would it get rid of it!?

Static lice or hay lice are little black specks close to the skin at the hair shaft, they are so small although they can be seen, you wouldn't see them moving. If you use a little bit of sellotape & try to get some on it, then look under a microscope then you will see them waving at you rolleyes They appear in clusters. especially on the rump area.

How old is your piggy? You could use "Lice & Easy" from Gorgeous Guineas & bath her in it, if she is more than 12 weeks old. You can email Chrissie at GG for advice.

7-8 months old!
Would you have to bathe the other guinea pig that's in with her!?
I will send her an email now (:

Static lice or hay mites can happen at this time of the year - they sit at the end of hairs, usually around the bum area.It looks like someboday has enptied a peppermill over the piggy. If you want to research it, look for chirodiscoides caviae.

A lice shampoo with usually do the trick. You need to bathe all piggies; they may not be as obvious in other piggies. Please check whether they have come in the hay!

Yeah, that's what it is!
Will flea or die work!? That says for Lice
How do I check whether it's from that hay!?
The only hay I get is Pets @ Home but I got another one the other day I think it was best pets! I've also used the Oxbow orchard grass
