Hi,

My pigs used to be on harringtons and they really liked them. the shop I purchased them from stopped stocking them so I changed them over to burgess excel with mint pellets which they seem to like but not love. I now can get my hands on the harringtons but I have a huge bag of excel pellets - do you think it'll ok to mix them for the short term if I introduce the harringtons slowly again?

Thank you :)

Also does anyone have any cheaper hay recommendations. I currently mix Timothy by alfalfa King with burgess excel but it is getting expensive as I own 7 piggies. Went to B&M stores to grab hay but they told me they don't have any as a lady buys in bulk! I picked up some
Natural meadow hay (easyfeedz.co.uk) from my local pet shop so was going to try mixing that with their Timothy hay.

Cheers.

Absolutely .. that's the way to do it.. when changing from one brand to another ...

Brilliant thank you. I did do it with their harringtons to burgess a while back and just worried that because I have such a large bag of burgess pellets left that it could cause a problem but I think I'm just being paranoid ha ha. Thanks again :)

I have just read this thread and I didn't know you couldn't just switch brands. I know you can't just change a dogs food without gradually introducing a new brand but I genuinely didn't know it was the same for guinea pigs. I've always just switched brands in one go
