I am sure some of you will have read about Milly passing away suddenly a couple of weeks ago leaving Molly all alone.

Anyway today I visited Fi-cantillon and fell in love with a neutered boar that she had collected last Friday.

He has a lovely gold face and a white body. A handsome chappie who I am sure Molly will love.

I will post photos of him later and some more information about him. He needs a little tlc though.

AWWW - I'm sure they'll be happy together!

Prepare for a couple of days of fireworks, though!

Looking forward to pics!

can't wait for pics. He sounds a very handsome chappie.

He sounds handsome, I do hope he and Molly take well to each other. I am sure Molly will appreciate the company, I just hope her new man can behave himself!

Thanks everyone. I managed to keep him still for a couple of photos. He is very scared but seems comfortable when cuddled and was happy "eating for England" when in his cage, even though it knew I was watching. Perhaps, he is just terrified as he seems calmer than I thought he would be considering he was running "free range" apparently.

I can't use his previous name as we have already had a boar called that, so we are in the process of choosing a name that suits him. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Anyway, he weighed in at 1.15 kg - a good weight. He is 18 months old and neutered. He has a few battle scars ... a recent, but healed, bite mark to his back where there is also hair loss, a badly torn ear and a very strange 4th toe on his left back foot. It is boneless, but has a nail and seems to be just attached by a small piece of skin, therefore hanging. Very weird, I have never seen anything like that before!

Well, here he is ....

My new man again, looking smaller than he really is ...

We think he is gorgeous!
I will bath him when he has settled more, give him lots of tlc and keep in isolated before introducing him to Molly. Fingers crossed they like each other! x)

very cute, i am sure molly will think he is as gorgeous as we do. extra toe is a bit weird but assuming it causes no pain it is just a unique quirk

He's a stunner!

The extra toe is known as polydactyly. Most people advise having it removed due to the risk it can catch and tear, but he will have had it from birth and he looks well grown. How old is he?

AWWWW - he is such a handsome lad! x)
I'm sure he'll be happy to join his new ladylove!

How about Monty, Martin, Max or Merry?

scrummy yummy handsome piggy!:)
hope he and molly will be very happy together! x x x

Thanks everyone. We have all decided on Billy as a name for him. Although Monty was a definite option - thanks Vickyt.

Unfortunately no bonding has been able to take place as mange mite has developed on Billy's back :(. I have treated him and keeping fingers crossed that he will recover very soon.

So both are still alone and waiting to meet.
