Hi

i was just wondering if more than two boys can be together as i read that they are fine as just 2 but anymore may cause fights and bullying!

or could it just be the nature of the piggies for example some piggies get along and some don't?

as i have just recently found out my sow is pregnant and if she has males i am just concerned that maybe the older piggies might bully him well mostly the dominant would i think as the other 1 is OK with other piggies?

Hi

Look through the behaviour section on this forum there is loads of info about keeping boars, also you can try Barmy for Boars Website there is a lot of info on there too!

All the literature I have ever read says "two boars only" - I used to house SEVEN together! Had no problems but they did have a huge living area and lots of hidey holes in case of trouble! I've only ever had two boys that didn't settle together although they did settle with other boars!

ok thanks 2 you both i will look at barmy for boars site that should help me more

:)

Yeah take a look at the website - it's absolutely lovely. I adore boars - they seem to like humans more and be less independent than sows.

My sister has 4 Boars (Dad and 3 sons)together and they are now 4 yrs old and dad 4 1/2 yrs old. They have never had any fall outs and are in the same shed as girls

Great i will just introduce them slowly they should be fine the boars i have already are lovely piggies so i will just keep a close eye on the baby when he eventually comes along and see how the older ones react to him.

I have 3 brothers living together and at the moment they are fine. Vikkigrissom&gizmo has just introduced a third piggy to her babies and at the mo they are fine (touch wood)

Ive had about 6 or more boars togehter and they got along fine but it depends on how relaxed, calm, or how they rae with other boars that matters

let them play with each other for a few minutes each day and see how they get along O0

i dont see why anyone says boars are harder to even pair up never mind groups of boars as ive had no problem and i think there just like sows really - there no different ;)

hi thanks everyone i will take note of all the advice i get and hopefully everything will go smoothly O0
