Found this on Morgan today but I don't think it was there yesterday and if it was it certainly wasn't as big

She will be going to the vets tomorrow but can anyone tell me what has caused it? I don't think its her cagemate Gerty as they get on great but its not in a place she could realy reach herself. From what i've heard about mites ect. is that the pig was the one that causes the scabs because they itch themselves

Whatever it is hopefully its caught early, she is fine in herself and i havn't seen her itch also Gerty is completly fine

Any Ideas?

Could be mites, been scratching herself and caused this. Does she have any dandruff flakes on his rump or redness? Mites can't be seen. Good luck at the vets.

Looks like mites to me too, especially where it is positioned.

I agree that a skin condition is most probable. Take Gerty along to the vet too, if it is mites and a course of Ivermectin injections are needed (2-3 doses, 10 days apart), both will have to be treated (even if Gerty has no symptoms).

That looks very sore. As has been suggested above, it could be a skin infection, either parasitic or fungal. Any chance it could be a bite wound, but it doesn't look like one though?
