My smallest piggy, Mousey sadly passed away today. I went down this morning to find Mousey very ill. She'd had an abscess removal last Tuesday & all seemed to be going well though she had lost a little of her appetite which can be quite normal after an op & on antibiotics though she hadn’t lost a lot of weight like she did after her cyst removal 15 months ago. She had a check up on Friday & had the stitches removed but last night she was eating even less & was breathing a little different. She seemed to be otherwise OK. When I went down this morning she was breathing in a very laboured way but ate some parsley & lettuce. I gave her her meds & weighed her & her weight was stable. I wasn't happy so rang vets for an appointment which was made for 3.45pm. By lunchtime she was worse so I rang the vets at 1pm to see if I could get her in as an emergency so took her straight down & saw her regular vet at 1.45. She checked her & said it looked like fluid on her lungs & her heart was also very weak. She didn't give her much chance but I asked if anything could be done to save her. She gave her diuretic & steroid injections & I took her back home. When I opened her carrying case she was slumped to one side looking unconscious. She did move a little after that but it was obvious that she was close to the end & she died peacefully about an hour & a half later. I'm really devastated this comes 15 days after losing our dog of over 14 years. Sue & I are both devastated. Mosey was not quite 3 but she has left us with some lovely memories. I will try to get a tribute done soon for the Rainbow Bridge section. Thanks to all who sent well wishes during her recent illness. R.I.P. Mousey, you'll be sadly missed.

I am very sorry! It is so gutting when you lose a battle you'd thought you'd won.

RIP Mousey

Stewy I am so sorry to hear this. You must be absolutely devastated, you did everything possible for your little girl. Sometimes everything we try and we still can't save them it is so desperately heartbreaking at times. My thoughts are with you both, big hugs.

Sleep well little girl.

RIP Mousey

This has brought tears to my eyes. I really am so very sorry. It was clear how much you loved her and you did everything for her. You are so unlucky to have another tragic thing happen so soon. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear this, Stewybus. You must be devastated. Take solace in the fact that you did all you could, and Mousey experienced a whole lot of love while with you. Also, RIP to your sweet dog. Hang in there xx.

Thanks for all your messages, it's nice to know that we're not alone in our grief. Just grabbed a picture of Mousey when she was 6 months old as my new avatar. She's now with her old friend Madam who passed away nearly a year ago.

((HUGS))- I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and Mousey. I lost a youngish pig after abscess surgery too, several years back, and I know how sad it was to go through that, and how unfair it seems when they don't pull through in spite of all the love and care.

Poor Mousey, Rest in Piece little friend, popcorn free over the bridge. ((((Hugs))) for you Stewy, sorry you lost a special friend.

Rip mousey all the best from pancake bakewell marzipan and me mousey will be missed x
