Makes a change reporting on a different piggy to Minky.

I've just been giving Minky some probiotic & looked in on the next cage to see that Mousey looked a bit puffed out under her right ear. Got her straight out & there's definitely something like an abscess there so I've rang the vet & got her booked in for 5pm today. While I had her on my knee I've also noticed that she has a small white looking bald patch under & round the front of her right eye. This could be a fungal or possible if her eye has been sore then maybe just caused by excess tears. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to give the others as much attention as I'd like to but I did have her out yesterday to weigh her & didn't notice anything then. Looks like I've caught this abscess early & can get it removed before it has chance to spread. She's OK in herself & her weight yesterday was the second highest during the last 6 weekly weigh-ins so no issues there.

Please send your healing vibes.

Sorry to hear this Stewy, she is in good hands with you and your vets, just seems like one thing after another for you at the moment.

Let us know how she gets on at the vets today, lots of healing vibes to her from us both

Thanks Lee, I'll update when I get back from the vets.

Oh no! Poor mousey! These piggles really are giving you worrying times at the moment. Keeping everything crossed that she is easily fixed!

Healing vibes coming your way!

Just got back from the vets& as expected it is an abscess & a fungol. Mousey is booked in for op tomorrow at 5pm & if all goes well I may be able to collect her at 6.20pm otherwise she'll be kept in overnight. I'm giving her 0.25ml of Baytril now & in the morning plus I'm going to apply some Imaverol solution to the bald area near her eye. I'm quite confident the op will go well tomorrow as Dominika also performed Minky's successful Abscess op last year & Mousey has already recovered well from anaesthetic when she had a sebaceous cyst removal 15 months ago. Will keep you posted tomorrow evening as to Mousey's progress. Thanks for all the healing vibes, I'm sure they will help.

Just got back from the vet's with Mousey after a successful op. Those healing vibes certainly helped. She's had injections of Baytril & Metacam & I have to keep her on 0.25ml of Baytril twice a day till she's back at the vet's on Friday afternoon. I've got to keep the drain hole open & will do the same as I did with Minky last year. Use a cotton bud with lukewarm Manuka honey inserted into the hole with a slight twist. I'm keeping her in the hospital cage because one of her companions, Mother thinks she'll help by eating the stitches! This happened over a year ago when Mousey had a sebaceous cyst removed & the wound to ages to heal because the stitches were eaten. I'll report back on Friday or earlier if there's anything to mention.
