Hi

It is difficult to say. Is the mucus dry or soft?

Quite soft.

Then is it more likely connected with the reproductive tract than the digestive tract but it is usually not easy to say.
Gelatinous mucus in sows can be linked to ovarian cysts but small dryish mucus bladders sticking to poos can be a sign of dehydration.

If in doubt, especially if you see more, please see a vet.

Oh okay! I just found it weird that it has come out in balls. These two were on the pee pad, and there was another in the cage next to poop - so I can’t realy determine which tract it’s coming out of.

It's usually not easy, especially as it often happens as a one off.

Just saw THIS on the girls cage.. I don’t know how we would have missed it, but I presume it happened when one of them was jumping in or out of the cage..

There seems to be a fresh bit of blood in it.

Is this urine or more mucus? It may be worth contacting the vet about this, especially if it is mucus rather than urine.

It seems more mucus to me. It honestly seems like human vaginal discharge, hence why I assumed it could be one of the girls vaginal discharge due to their cycle. But the bits of blood have worried me.

So this is the same as the mucus balls the other day?
If yes, could you please update an ongoing issue instead of starting a new thread; it means that we can get a better picture. We jump between lots of very different issues every day and cannot necessarily be expected to remember what has gone on before. It would help you and us when assessing the situation.

Unlike you, it is more the mucus that worries me; this should definitely be seen as a problem with the reproductive tract.

Hi! I didn’t think it was the same thing - the mucus previously seemed to be formed into little neat balls, which Lulu seemed to want to eat sometimes whilst other times would just leave them. They were still quite spongy, but a bit harder.

The mucus on the edge of the cage seems to be a lot more runny - like a snot like consistency. That’s why I assumed they were two different things! The mucus balls from before seemed more resonant of mucus in the poop, whereas this one has just thrown me off.

The balls may likely to be the first drops of what has now started to come out in larger quantities. Please have the issue vet checked. This is not normal.

I am very sorry that you are having more health issues!

Oh okay, I had no idea! I’ll get ringing the vet right away! Thank you for all of your advice
