Hi I have two 6 month old guinea pigs, joey and chandler! For their whole life so far they have been fed muesli with lots of different dried veggies and protein. They have never been fed pellets but I’m wondering after a bit of research I’m thinking maybe pellets are a better option. Can I please get some advise?
Thanks.

Definitely pellets.
mueslies often contain items which are either unsafe and/or unsuitable due to high sugar content. They encourage selective feeding which means piggies only pick put the sweet tasting pieces.
They need just one tablespoon of plain pellets per pig per day. Overfeeding pellets or mueslies can mean they get too much calcium (which can lead to bladder stones) and too much sugar in the case of mueslies. they are the least important part of the diet

Thanks I will definitely be swapping!

I switched to pellets on advice from this forum and my piggies love them.
I feed Science Selective grain free.

We would love to see pictures of Joey and Chandler.

Yeah I feed mine pellets because it contains everything. If guinea pigs have muesli then they often pick out the bits they want and leave what they don't want. This means that they dont get all the nutrition they need. I would definitely swap to pellets.

I feed Science Selective Grain Free like @Merab's Slave. My adopted piggy Pretty Patsy was changed over to them too without a problem (but she was on pellets just another type) When you swap it over don't do it suddenly, gradually reduce the amount of muesli as you increase the amount of pellets over a week or so. They may well leave the pellets first of all in favour of the muesli as the muesli is all they have known, but they should move over to the pellets.
